Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes (Turn and Face the Strange)

Still working on the outline of the game and making changes to the story I originally had for my novel. Back when I was making the demo, I made the fun little discovery that things I was writing in my novel did not work well in the game. It was a fun little challenge of learning to constantly ask "how can this be gamified" with every story idea I had. Seeing how significantly different the beginning of the demo is from the original novel, I am already expecting the novel of Wayfarers and the game of Wayfarers to be eventually split out into their own stories (I guess kind of like the animes, Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood). 

So aside from super secret story stuff, what else have I been working on in Wayfarers? Well I looked into how to integrate events into battles so I can include more scenes and conditions in certain battles. In case anyone is curious, I posted a kind of proof of concept of it on my Instagram account which you can see here. If you're at all curious about the background music I made for the video. I also worked on a supporting character and put their sprite into the demo version so I can better setup a character/story arc I plan on having later in the game. A screenshot of them in the Private Guard Bureau building is also posted on my IG account. Maybe I'll make a slightly more detailed post about the new character in when I add them into some of the newer scenes.

That's kind of it. It sucks I don't have nearly as much time as I did before when I was working on the demo, but I have to say I'm pretty excited about this for some reason. It's a small step forward, but it's a step forward nonetheless. Until next week!
